That first girl looked like she almost blacked out. Do you see people blacking out very often at tournaments?

Almost nothin'-- she was out! (They should have sat her down with her head lower than her feet...)

I personally haven't seen many people go out at tournaments or at home. I know one friend who was choked out at a tournament; I have gone completely out twice and been realllly close once or twice more at home in training. It's not anything to be afraid of as long as you're not inviting it by intentionally eating good chokes. (when it happens to me, I'm underestimating the goodness of their choke position, if that makes sense..)

Wow. Referee's need to be really on top of that for kids. They don't have a well established sense of good judgement when they are young.

Our coach is very hard on people who don't tap when there is no escape and they are in a compromised position.

In that second video, I can't think of a worse position to be in then being flattened. She was over with as soon as she got flattened. I hope some one talked to her after that and explained how to avoid that.

The referee is Yasmin Sewgobind. I think she's a purple belt.
