4 years training and Goodell almost submits & barely loses at the buzzer to an Abu Dhabi champion?..."The Prodigy" is taken, but she needs a nickname. Great match, thanks for posting.
UGH!!! As my coaches always say, "Now we'll never know!" If only it was like 30 seconds longer...but dang, that was beautiful. Although I was tempted to turn down the volume multiple times.
2) did tracey go from blue to brown belt in just one year? maybe if they would have said it at least another 5,000 times i could of picked up on that little tidbit of info.
Actually the announcers could have been more sensationalist if they'd known Tracey better-- she went blue to brown in a MONTH. Thank God she's not in my division any more.
Does anyone know how long she was a blue? Maybe she just chilled out at that rank for a bit too long...although that still doesn't change the fact that she is a brown belt (and proved it!) in four years.
Maybe 2-3 years? Not excessive, until you consider how assertively she mopped up some really skilled women in leve and absolute as a purple at Mundials. And then as a brown at the Rio Open... damn.
I have a feeling she pulled a BJ Penn on the belt thing. BJ moved up the belt ranks quickly as well, but from what I understand, he was training for some time before he "officially" and "formally" started training jits, which was why he moved up the ranks so quickly. Lloyd could have been training Tracey for a while before he "officially" got her to compete and before she started taking her grading... just my 2 cents, I still don't believe the hype, no talent can be substitute for hard work, anyone who puts in the grunt work on the mats day in and day out knows this

Her nickname should be Double Gold.
