Too much to cover so here's the short list:
I owe you a picture or two of my new short haircut. It's sassy and curly and fun but I'm still mourning my former waterfall of hair. I know it's easier for rolling though so I'll be content with the tradeoff.
Work is crazy busy as ever. More in fact.
Training proceeds apace with lots of help from people whose guards I can't pass (Donald, Vidush, Phil, Spicer) and whose sweeps I can't avoid (Vidush, Phil, Spicer, * and myself... yes, I find that more often than not, I'm sweeping myself. Can I get the two points if I'm the reason they come up on top?)
Leaving for Chicago on Thursday after training, for my 20th high school reunion (go Huskies!) and sadly, I will NOT be competing in the US Grappling tournament, for financial reasons associated with laid off husband, recent roofing and siding project, and unexpected plane ticket to Florida (see below). I do hope to get some training in while I'm up there though, and in anticipation of such thing, I have downloaded an app to my brand new android phone which hopefully will help me navigate the CTA (public transport system) since I'm staying in Oak Park and not renting a car. I have a couple places in mind thanks to Donald and Jordan.
Then Sunday instead of coming home, I go to Florida for my Uncle Louis' funeral. Too much sad, right now, so will speak about that later. I'll be in Florida through Wednesday, and while there I will scoot over to the east coast to visit another aunt, and my pally-wallies Allie and Steph.
Yeah, it's after six, so I'm a little silly.
* That omission there doesn't mean I can avoid Donald's sweeps, it means that I am fully aware that I sweep myself when I'm rolling with him. So there.

How did I not know you were also from Chicago? Explains quite a bit.
:) Grew up living in Westchester, went to Immaculate Heart of Mary freshman year then Oak Park-River Forest HS for the last 3.
And curious-- what does it explain? ;)
My condolences on your Uncle's passing.
So glad I'll be getting to see you! Though, I wish it were under better circumstances. Praying for you and your family!!
sorry about losing your uncle.
re: haircut. I'm curious to see your haircut. I wonder how my long hair will fare with this sport. I can't imagine cutting it as it's such a part of my identify but...we'll see...
Georgette-
My condolences to you. Sounds like you are having a challenging moment.
20 year reunion. Hmmm. Went to mine and it was supreme bizarreness, but also kind of funny.
