All these ladies were very nice; all had about a year to 18 months of training, so I feel pretty good about how I did. The real credit goes to my instructors and training partners, in no particular order: Christy, Leila, Shama, Phil, Robert, Tom, Nick, Richard, Randy, Kurt, Moss, and Eric. Double kudoes to my corner and instructor Phil who was the most amazing coach during my rounds!
Here's my first match:
The second match went the whole 5 minutes and I think it's too long to post here so you'll have to check it out here on YouTube.
The third, the finals round:
I definitely need work on takedowns, guard passing, triangle defense, and taking the back without getting reversed, for a start.

Wow. Very impressive. Congrats!
Georgette was unstoppable. It was hard to stay focus on the tiny camera screen while she was annihilating far more experienced opponents. This girls has some talent. Go Red Menace.
Congrats again! :D
They all seemed to be bigger than you, too: are you near the bottom of your weight category (I'm assuming this wasn't absolute?), or am I just crap at judging size? ;)
Red Menace-- I love it!!!
As for size: we didn't really have weight classes. They weighed us in to determine under or over 140lbs, but in the end it was all combined. I think all the girls were taller than me, and the redhead in my 2nd match was definitely strong. I weighed in at 129 but I think I'm really more like 125. Anyway, all these chicks are smaller than the guys I normally grapple so it was nice :)
Oh, and I was STUPID for not competing in the white belt absolute! I scratched because the tourney folks said they'd combined white, blue and purple women together, and I was thinking that would burn out my grips and the rest of me before no-gi. Then later I found out they separated white belt from the rest of the belts for absolute-- it would have been all the same chicks, PLUS the absolute prize was an Atama gi + backpack! So I was happy for my new grappling friend Liana to win absolute, but I was also bummed because I wanted the Kyra pink gi. (in the end, I bought it, it was 50% off at the tournament. So yes, now I have EIGHT gis. I'm retarded!)
Utter domination. That's all I saw.
Awesome job. Are you coming up for the NAGA Tournament Dec 6th in Grapevine? If so I will try to come see you. Kent has to of his guys entering. Glad that you got in with Phil and Christy. They are awesome people. Hope to talk to you soon.

Amie!!! I would love to see you there-- I am definitely coming to NAGA. Remind me again where Kent's guys train-- I mean what school? How fun, it would be just great to see you and that precious baby (who is getting so big!) of yours...
Kent teachs Relson Gracie Jiu Jitsu in Terrell. He couldn't find a school up here that he liked so Phil let him start teaching under Relson's school.
