Persistence.

Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence.
Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful people with talent.
Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb.
Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts.
Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent.
The slogan "press on" has solved and always will solve the problems of the human race.
-- Calvin Coolidge

Persistence built on love and passion is the strongest emotion and drive force in the world.

I completely agree. I always tell people, "If you have two fighters, one with heart, and one with talent, the one with heart will always win."

A valuable reminder, and totally true...but getting that through my head is hard sometimes. Persistence has far superior long-term benefits but the short-term benefits of talent (or lack thereof) can be discouraging at first.

Great reminder. I think persistence is my strongest asset and sometimes, in the face of others' athleticism, flexibility, youth or raw talent, I forget about it.

Very true. Fabio was just telling me about how many really talented guys came through his school but quit. Great post!
